Letter From the Chairman of the Board
Dear Friends,
With
the month of Sivan coming to a close, we are beginning our preparations
for the Yamim Noraim – Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. As is our custom
each year, those who have dedicated seats in our Synagogue and would
like to use them for the holidays have an advanced registration
opportunity. If you are a dedicated-seat holder, please advise us by
Sunday, August 2 that your seats should be reserved for you on Rosh
Hashana and/or Yom Kippur. If we have not heard from you by that date,
we will assume that you are not using your seats and we will be able to
assign them to others. We thank you for your cooperation in helping us
to better serve our congregants.
On erev Rosh Chodesh each month
in many communities, there are special tefilot recited for Yom Kippur
Katan. Beginning with this month, on Sunday, June 21 (29 Sivan) at
1:15 PM in Beit Midrash Be'er Miriam, our Synagogue will now be hosting
those tefilot. This month, our Chief Chazzan Chaim Adler will
officiate. We invite you to join us.
Mazal Tov to our Vice
President Sir Ian and Lady Gainsford on their twin grandsons, Joseph
and Daniel Clements, becoming bnei Mitzvah this past Shabbat in
Birmingham, England. Mazal Tov as well to the parents, Geoffrey and
Deborah Clements. May Joseph and Daniel continue to be sources of
great nachat to their family and to all Am Yisrael.

our Board Member Ze'ev and Debbie Jaffe on the marriage this week of
their son Ariel to Efrat Ariel, daughter of Aviad and Ayala Ariel.
Special Mazal Tov to the grandparents of the Chattan, our esteemed
congregants Mrs. Ella Jaffe and Sol and Barbara Liebgott. May the
newlyweds share a long, healthy and happy life together as they build
their bayit ne'eman b'Yisrael. We are delighted that they will join us
this Shabbat at The Jerusalem Great Synagogue for their Shabbat sheva
brachot.
We continue to pray for the good health and immediate
release of Gilad ben Aviva Schalit. Please add prayers for refua
