Dear Friends,
One had to be with us on Yom Kippur to fully appreciate the beautiful
and spiritually uplifting tefillot we experienced. It was most heartwarming to
have so many people who were in our Synagogue asking when we are accepting
reservations for next year's Yamim Noraim. In last week's newsletter, I thanked all of
those who helped make Rosh Hashana such a memorable holiday. Those same people deserve our gratitude for
Yom Kippur. Added to that list is the
Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv-Yaffo, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau for his moving Divrei
Torah on Kol Nidre night and before Yizkor, our Vice-President Sir Ian
Gainsforf who led Pesukei d'Zimra, Professor Yaakov Weinroth who was our baal
Mincha, Lior Stein who blew a magnificent tekia gedola and our Council Member
Mr. and Mrs. Simon Kresch who donated cold drinks for everyone at the end of
the Fast. In answer to that question that was posed about reservations: If you have dedicated seats and want to
reserve them for next year, please send us an e-mail with the request. If you don't have dedicated seats, we will be
happy to place your name(s) now on a list for seat allocation at the beginning
of Elul. In the meantime, have a
healthy, happy, peaceful and prosperous 5770.
Please check the Upcoming Events listed just below this short note. If you are in Jerusalem,
we hope you will take advantage of these programs.
