Dear Friends,

 

The first Selichot this year will take place on Saturday evening, September 12th, at 10:30 PM.  Chief Chazzan Chaim Adler will officiate accompanied by The Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir conducted by Elli Jaffe.  If you wish to attend and will have become a Supporting Member of our Synagogue prior to Sunday, September 6th, you will have a reserved seat, There is no admission charge for attendance for the general public who will be admitted as space permits.  If you haven’t as yet become a Supporting Member, you will find the Membership Form on our website.

 

I again urge those of you who would like to join us for Rosh Hashana and/or Yom Kippur to make your reservations soon.  Baruch Hashem, we are receiving requests for seats from throughout the world and we expect a very large congregation for the Yamim Noraim.  To reserve places, you may call our office (02-923-0628 ext 5) or come in person (Sun-Thurs 10 AM-12:15 PM).You may also e-mail us at jgs@zahav.net.il.

 

We are arranging our Motzaei Shabbat Mevorchim Social Evening and Lecture Series for 5770 (2009-2010).  Please reserve the dates on your calendar so that you will be able to participate in these interesting and informative programs:  October 17, November 14, January 9, February 13, March 13.

 

Mazal Tov to our Sponsors Zoltan and Judy Lefkovits of New York on the Bar Mitzvah celebration of their grandson Jonathan this Shabbat at The Jerusalem Great Synagogue. May Zoltan and Judy continue to derive much nachat from Jonathan and from their entire family, in good health, ad mea v’esrim shana.

May they all be blessed with a speedy and complete recovery and enjoy good health for many more years.

 

Chief Chazzan Chaim Adler will officiate this Friday evening (6:55 PM) and Shabbat morning (7:55 AM) accompanied by our Choir conducted by Elli Jaffe.  We are delighted to welcome Jonathan Lefkovits of Livingston, New Jersey, his parents, family and guests who have come to celebrate this simcha at The Jerusalem Great Synagogue.  May Jonathan continue to be a constant source of nachat to his family and to all Am Yisrael. The Lefkovits Family is sponsoring a Kiddush following Shabbat morning services for the entire congregation.
